On arrival at the course this morning the sign was up COURSE CLOSED ……..after torrential rain over night the greens were struggling to drain. After some hard and much appreciated work from the green keepers the course was open for play whilst neighbours Sunningdale and Wentworth remained closed. Thanks must also go to Sam and George  who fielded the many phone calls from  teachers and parents asking for information on the course closure.

The shotgun start gor under way as planned at 11am with light rain. The rain lifted for a while but returned towards the end of the girls rounds. The competition was played in great spirit by the girls who had traveled from as far as Monmouth, Wakefield, Suffolk and the south coast to take part in the competition.

The course proved a true test for the low as well as higher handicaps as the picturesque course needs accuracy and patience to score well.

Further info will be sent on future girls events…..sign up to the free ISGA newsletter to be kept informed.
